Professional rodeo announcer Alan Moorhead is living out his dream.

Moorhead, a lifelong rodeo fan who has 18 years experience calling equine events, is in his seventh year as a full time Pro-Rodeo announcer, after several years of announcing horse shows and rodeos while working full time at Kimberly Clark Corp. 1996 marked the year Moorhead, with the support of wife and family would take the leap of faith and follow his dream to make a career as a Pro-Rodeo announcer.

Moorhead is the voice of the National Barrel Horse Association’s World Championships held in Augusta Ga. for the last nine years.

Moorhead brings natural enthusiasm to his work behind the mic. It stems from his love of equine sports.

"It’s more than just a job," Moorhead said. "It’s something I enjoy doing. I get caught up in the action. I feel it’s important to entertain and inform the lifelong rodeo fan as well as educate the first time spectator. I like to announce from the stand point as if I were sitting with a friend at their first rodeo and educating them.

Moorhead now announces in twenty states or more each year while traveling this great country through an average of thirty states each year.

With crisp clear delivery and an outgoing, friendly personality Moorhead would be an asset to any rodeo in the country.

Moorhead resides in Beech Island S.C. with his wife and barrel racer Angie. They have two sons, Jacob , and Wil.
