FELLOW BARREL RACER NEEDS HELP

Many of you do not know Linda Stenerson from Bosnall, CA. She is a very dear friend of mine and a fellow barrel racer and barrel racing supporter. She was crowned NBHA 3D Senior World Champion this year after escaping the fires in California ( just across the freeway from her house) and making the incredibly long drive from California to Augusta, GA. Linda is an avid barrel racer……futurities, NBHA and Rodeo. She owns Smooth Run and has put a lot of effort into creating great products for our equine athletes. She is also a great supporter or barrel racing. She has an ad in The Barrel Horse News every month and has for as long as I can remember. She sponsors lots of events. She has been a major sponsor of the Run for the Bucks and Champion of Champions Events that I help produce. She provided award product for our own NC NBHA State Finals in 2007. She has provided sponsorship product to many barrel racer throughout the US including my son, Cory. She is truly a great person and someone who is dedicated to the barrel racing industry as a whole….not just her own cause. She has given greatly to our sport and now she needs us………… This is the information I received from my dear friend……..

Linda’s daughter, 36 year old Heather Herron- team roper, former High School Rodeo Champion Goat Tyer and Barrel racer had a major aneurism on Mar. 7th and that led to a heart attack and all her major organs shut down. Her heart was working at 15% and no liver, kidneys or very limited lungs. They had filled with fluid. She had major brain surgery on the 11th and then again on the 28th. That's why she is such a medical miracle that she is still with us. The doctors gave us very little hope for the first week. Now we are going strong towards a good recovery from all the many prayer lists that she was on. I know God has been with her and the rest of us also during this time thanks to all of you who prayed for her. Thanks again,

Heather lives in a very small town in Northern CA and they couldn't find a big hospital to accept her as she had no insurance. We got there after driving all night and her window for even living was dwindling very quickly. I was told she had no insurance and no one would accept her. Bruce and I decided right then we would sign our life away to give her a chance. We signed papers to accept all financial responsibility and they had two hospitals ready to accept her within ten minutes. Just the helicopter ride for the hour to get her down her has already been billed and it was $58,000.00. That’s right not 5800 but thousand. I almost puked then myself. We bank at Union Bank in Fallbrook, CA but they are all over the state.
She may be disabled as far as ever working again for life but we have seen such a medical miracle in her that all the doctors can't even believe she lived much less doing as well as she is. Of course it is hard for us and she is not really aware of this world or what year it is or even where she is but she recognizes me and talks to Bruce on the phone and her brother etc. Not knowing still where she is but is able to talk to them and that is really great. She has come a long way in the last month and hopefully the progress will keep going that fast.

I will be contacting Linda’s bank tomorrow to set up an account just for Heather and her medical expenses and the expenses involved with caring for her. I sat in the hospital while they cut Cory ear to ear and removed an abscess from his brain and there is nothing like that feeling. No one should ever have to feel that pain. Please keep Linda in your prayers and visit CBHNews.com or ngproductions.com for updates on where you can send money. If everyone could just send $5, what a difference that would make. You can also support her business…Smooth Run. You can order through the internet or contact me or Jana Frazier. Please find it in you heart to help this family in their time of need, believe me she is the kin who will give you the shirt off her back. I will try to have the bank information tomorrow.

Thanks so much,
Beth Kidd
