The
CVG and Files Barrel Horses of Alabama will be
hosting a barrel racing clinic on May 24 and 25, 2008.
The
registration fee of $250 per horse/rider combination will cover
attendance for both days. A registration form and a $50.00 non-refundable
deposit needs to be received by Beth Kendall by April 1, 2008,
to hold your spot in the clinic. The balance of $200.00 needs
to be received by Beth by May 1, 2008, or you risk losing your
spot to someone else who would like to attend.
The
clinic may be audited by those who wish to learn but not actually
participate with a horse. The fee for auditing per day is $30.00.
Please mail a check to Beth Kendall if you plan to audit the clinic.
Her address can be found on the Registration Form (link below).
The
Files will work with each horse and rider combination to maximize
the full potential of each. They review all aspects of barrel
racing from starting and training to correcting problems and maintaining
your barrel horse. They specialize in keeping the horse and rider
calm and concentrating on the job at hand. The first day of the
clinic you will be videotaped doing a run on your own. During
lunchtime, there will be a sit-down session to go over critique
of everyone's video run. The afternoon will consist of hands-on
education with the Files working with all riders and horses. The
second day of the clinic will consist of the riders receiving
more hands-on education and critique. At the end of the day, we
will have a friendly competition with each rider running barrels.
Riders
under 18 years of age must wear a helmet while mounted and must
be accompanied by an adult during the clinic. Shoes with heels
are to be worn at all times by everyone.
Please
let us know as soon as possible if you plan to attend by completing
the registration form and sending in your registration fee.
